Get Involved!

Getting involved with Chain Reaction is simple. The easiest way is to just show up at Community CycleWorks ready to help with whatever needs to be done. Youth groups or larger groups are invited to contact us about group service opportunities. Other volunteer opportunities include specific one-time or reacurring activities to which volunteers can be assigned. Browse the specific volunteer positions and to-do list acitivities below and contact us with questions

Volunteer Positions

These positions require a regular comitment of 2-4 hours per week. Job descriptions are available upon request.

  • CycleWorks shop manger

  • Goshen Re-Cycles bicycle and trailer maintenance technician

Volunteer to-do list

These are one-time volunteer jobs that don't require additional commitments beyond the completion of each job.

  • Create signs for the shop. This is great job for someone that is really creative. We need signs for inside the shop, outside the shop and on the Goshen Re-Cycles Trailers. We have some paint, markers, and stands for outdoor signs, but someone with some creative genious could do whatever they want!

  • Install storage rails at the CycleWorks for the Goshen Re-Cycles trailers. This project has to wait until the sliding door has been installed. All hardware will be purchased by Chain Reaction.

  • Install protective metal grates over the alley windows at the CycleWorks.

  • Repair leaks in the CycleWorks roof.

  • Build a rack system in the CycleWorks to orgaznize fenders and handlebars. The wall space has been picked out and there is lumber and hardware available.

  • Build a rack system in the CycleWorks to organize tubes.

  • Build a system in the CycleWorks to organize cables and housing.

  • General CycleWorks cleanup. During the winter the area around the CycleWorks building becomes a favorite snow depository for snow plows. After the snow melts, lots of rocks and other debris are left behind. We have a nice new push broom for this job.
