Chain Reaction Bicycle Project is excited to announce the launch of a new visual identity. Our updated website and logo seek to streamline communication and to convey a modern and professional tone as we continue to provide bicycle repair and resources to the greater Goshen area.
The design was done by Jackson Steinmetz, a Goshen College graduate. Before moving, Steinmetz regularly rode his bicycle to work and around town in Goshen.
Steinmetz said, “I was eager to work with Chain Reaction on this rebrand because it seemed like a great opportunity to use my graphic design skills to support a local organization doing really meaningful work. I have gotten my bike fixed at Chain Reaction and appreciated the ability to learn about my bike throughout the process. It left me not only with a smoothly functioning ride, but with a sense of accomplishment for completing some of the repair work myself.”
The new logo seeks to give CRBP a sleek look that pays homage to the organization’s roots while sending a message about the future of the organization.
The 3 chain links fit together in a triangular shape that brings to mind the universal recycling symbol. Recycling pickup was a hallmark of Chain Reaction’s work in the early days of the organization. While it is no longer a regular service we provide, the commitment to supporting our natural environment remains.
The interlocking chains symbolize the way that bicycling connects us to our community and the world around us. Building a strong bicycling community is a big part of our mission. While repairing and selling bicycles is our day to day, advocating for and creating space where people have the resources to ride together and stay safe is our long term vision.
With the launch of this new logo and freshly designed website, we hope to bring clarity on how Chain Reaction Bicycle Project provides affordable, reliable and sustainable transportation to everyone.
